2 Also known as atopic dermatitis, eczema causes dry, sensitive skin and ret itchy patches of skin. Typically, hives appear red and will turn white in the center when pressed. 2 Raised, itchy bumps called hives are another common symptom of an allergic reaction. When your skin is exposed to an allergen or irritant, it can cause red itchy bumps on your skin, especially at the site of contact. 2One of the most common causes of itchy skin from allergies is contact dermatitis. The cause and symptoms of your skin reaction determine how you’ll be able to treat the problem. How Do Allergies Cause Itchy Skin and Rashes?ĭifferent types of allergic reactions cause itchy skin or rashes. 1 Severe allergic reactions require immediate emergency medical attention, but you can treat most mild allergy symptoms at home. 1 Although itchiness is a common and usually harmless allergy symptom, sudden or severe itching of your eyes or face may be an early sign of anaphylaxis. 1 If you experience severe hives, swelling, or trouble breathing, seek emergency medical help immediately. While mild allergies are harmless, moderate or severe allergic reactions cause dangerous symptoms. 1 Depending on your body and the allergen your immune system reacts to, your allergy symptoms might not always look the same. These chemical substances, such as histamine, cause uncomfortable, disruptive allergy symptoms. 1 When your immune system detects a substance that it thinks will harm you, it creates antibodies to fight it off, which leads to the release of pro-inflammatory substances, such as histamine. 1 Normally harmless substances, called allergens, cause your immune system to react, resulting in an allergic reaction. Keep reading to find out what causes allergies and how to soothe your itchy or irritated skin.Īllergies occur when your body reacts to something it views as harmful. If you often find yourself scratching your skin while experiencing other allergy symptoms, at-home allergy treatments can help provide relief. You might think allergies only cause symptoms like sneezing or watery eyes, but many people with allergies experience itchy skin as well. Irritated, red, and itchy skin feels uncomfortable or even painful, leaving you desperate for relief.

Strongarm Bracers ups this interesting situation by making you able to wield a Large size Great Crossbow, basically a ballista (with 3d8 damage instead of the normal ballista damage of 3d6). A slightly loose interpretation of the Aptitude magic weapon enhancement ability and the feat Hand Crossbow Focus leads to a situation when combined with a Great Crossbow where you can get iterative attacks in a round with the Great Crossbow (through free action reloading as if it were a Hand Crossbow). If Dragon Magazine material is not available, then you can just take a level or two of Fighter (or just any class and use up your normal feats) and choose the Exotic Weapon Proficiency feats for those two crossbows instead. Choose Arrow Swarm as your Targeteer Ability. Bows get access to manyshot which is another DPR bump. SO Id say bows because you can have a +5 composite bows without any magic, its like a 600gp weapon. Certain rare builds can use a crossbow well but mostly theyre an NPC / backup weapon for casters. You'll need to choose Hand Crossbow and Great Crossbow for this build. If it is the latter, the use of magically justified Bottomless Magazines might make the Automatic Crossbow even more powerful. Bows are generally much, much better than crossbows. Targeteer Fighter gives you proficiency in a number of Exotic ranged weapons of your choosing at first level. Targeteer Fighter ACF (Drg #310) or regular Fighter if Dragon Magazine is not available +1 Large Aptitude (ToB) Great Crossbow (RoS)

How do I get an authorized copy of my birth certificate? The spreadsheet also tends to require huge amounts of carbonate to get the RA high enough for very dark beers, but I haven’t found it necessary to go over 300 ppm. Magnesium will lower the RA as well, but it is much less effective than calcium and can give an off flavor if there is too much of it so I rarely go above 15 ppm. Adding calcium with lower the RA, adding carbonate will raise it. Tweak the target water profile in the Residual Alkalinity spreadsheet until the RA matches the estimate needed for your beer. Determine the rest of your water profile. Use any brewing recipe software to determine the SRM (color) of your recipe, then input this number into the spreadsheet, the spreadsheet will give you a range of RA, I just take the average of the high and the low.Ĥ. To do this John Palmer has a great spreadsheet on his website. Determine your estimated Residual Alkalinity. Sodium – Hoppy beers get less than 30 ppm, moderate hop/malt beers get 50 ppm, and very sweet/malty beers get 75 ppm.ģ. Sulfate - Hoppy beers get 175 ppm, moderately hoppy beers get 75 ppm, and low hopped beers get less than 50 ppm.Ĭhloride – Hoppy beers get less than 50 ppm, moderately hoppy beers get 75 ppm, and low hopped beers get 100 ppm. Here are my suggestions for various types of beer: Calcium, magnesium, and carbonate primarily effect the pH of the mash, the other three are just there for flavor. Determine what flavor ions you want in your beer. As a last resort you can send your water to a testing company like Ward Labs (Either test W-6 or W-5A).Ģ. If your water department doesn't have a site, or the site doesn't have all the ions listed, trying emailing, or calling them. ProMash has a very helpful tool that will calculate your Ca, Mg, or Alkalinity based on CaCO3. I have always been able to get this info for my tap water off the city's water department website. The important ion concentrations to find out are calcium, sulfate, sodium, (bi)carbonate, chloride, and magnesium. I have made several below par beers simply by dumping water adjustment salts (Epsom Salt, Table Salt, Calcium Chloride, Gypsum, Chalk, and Baking Soda) with no real concept of what levels were right for the type of beer I wanted to come out with, don't let this happen to you.ġ. The brewers in these areas often go to great lengths to treat their water to make it suitable for brewing, it is much easier to start from your local water and tweak it to make an ideal water for the beer you are brewing. In my experience it is not a good idea to copy historic or famous water sources (Dublin, Munich, Burton-on-Trent etc…). You can still add some salts to the boil for flavor, but in most cases if you are using moderate tap water you probably already have more than enough ions. Malt extract contain all the minerals that were concentrated from the water that was used to brew it, so ideally you would be using distilled or reverse osmosis ( RO) water to reconstitute it. What follows is the water treatment process I go through for most of my batches. Most of the water guides out there in books and online tend to be heavy on the “why” and light on the how. That said if you are either just starting out or simply can't be bothered rest assured that you can still brew some very good beers without worrying too much about your water (read #6 anyway). It has the greatest impact on very pale or dark beers, which both taste much smoother now that I adjust the various levels of ions in the water. I think that water treatment has made the biggest impact on the quality of my beers (besides fermentation temperature control and pitching more yeast).

Now glass becomes not only a material, but also my fickle friend which reflects my inspiration and concentration. This idea helped me to create a different body of work which represented my experience or relationship with glass sculpture rather than the materiality of glass. During the glassblowing process, I sometimes saw the molten glass as a creature that has a consciousness and tries to challenge my skill or mastery. I was looking for the way to emphasize what I see in it. I have long created my art pieces based on the simple beauty of glass. It is so exciting to see my thoughts made visual and how I’ve been changed by creating my artworks. Since I recognized my art as the way to represent myself, or even have conversations with myself, I became devoted to a contemporary art practice. However, the experience of contemporary art based on different culture and the environment changed my perspective, and I felt like it took me beyond the narrow society in Japan. The environment I grew up with allowed me to cultivate an appreciation for both contemporary art and traditional craft, and I have so much respect for the Japanese culture.
